Peter Sefton has experience of all courts in Northern Ireland. Most lawyers have already experienced some advocacy in court and may have seen or even learned bad habits. Their training at the Institute may have been less than desired. We offer small group sessions with experienced practitioners, dealing with the basics , [revisited] and the more complex demands of the Crown Court. Topics covered include bad character, hearsay, disclosure, examination in chief and cross examination. Equally important is how to deal with sentencing issues.
Practitioners may find it beneficial to get a fresh perspective on advocacy, away from the usual suspects.
